Short Description:
Viewers tip to keep the bucket from draining. Also, the broadcaster can set additional goals and fully control the app while running.
Full Description
The Leaky Bucket App is an app where viewers tip to add tokens to the bucket. As long as the bucket has tokens (and the broadcaster doesn't get bored and switch it off, the show continues. Also, the broadcaster may set a series of additional goals that automatically update once they are hit. There are similar apps on Chaturbate, but this one is actively maintained and by far the best (totally unbiased opinion).
Settings
The various setting can be adjusted while the app is running. This is particularly useful if the broadcaster wishes to adjust the rate of withdraw or add more tokens to the bucket while the app is running. Furthermore, the broadcaster may assign one or more mods to have broadcaster level access so that they can adjust the settings for the broadcaster while she is busy.
- Rate: The rate at which tokens drain from the bucket. The bucket drains 10 times a minute so a rate of 5 would drain 50 tokens a minute. The rate may be adjusted while the app is running.
- Starting Amount: The initial amount of tokens in the bucket. It is recommended to start with at least twenty times the rate (rate = 5, starting amount = 100). This ensures that the bucket doesn't drain too quickly and gives viewers time to fill it up. Tokens may be added or subtracted from the bucket while the app is running. Also, the starting amount and any tokens added or subtracted while the app is running do not effect the tokens tipped total or go towards goals.
- Label: Lastly, there is an option to use a custom label, which is displayed in the panel (that thing next to the tip button) as well as in various spots within the app. The label can be anything from "piggy bank" to "love fund", whatever fits your particular style and room.
Goals
The broadcaster may wish to set additional goals while the app is running. There is an option to set up to 4 different goals on the launch page. Once a goal is reached it will automatically move to the next goal if there is one. The broadcaster may set different tip amounts for each goal as the goal amount resets each time it is reached. This is beneficial in that it keeps the token amount low, which has been proven to have a psychological affect on tipping.
Additionally, the broadcaster may skip the current goal while the app is running or add additional goals. If a goal is skipped the tokens from the previous goal are automatically credited to the new goal. Conversely, if a new goal is started while there isn't a current goal, the tokens amount is reset to zero.
Available Commands
- /leakymod:Only available to the broadcaster, this command allows her to grant broadcaster level access to various mods while the app is running. To permanently grant access, use the field on the launch page. The available options are "add", "remove", "list", and "export".
- /leakystats: Displays a set of useful statistics including how long the app has been running, tokens tipped, and most importantly, how many tokens have been tipped in each of the last ten minutes and the average. This is extremely useful when trying to determine the bests rate of drain for the bucket.
- /msg: Allows the broadcaster and those mods with broadcaster level access to send messages to each other. This can be very useful when deciding on the bucket drain rate or for coordinating other activities.
- /subject: Used to change the room subject. If there are preset goals this will append after them.
- /adjust: Used to add or subtract tokens from the bucket. To subtract tokens, put a minus (-) sign before the number.
- /rate: Used to change the bucket drain rate. The bucket drains 10 times a minute so a rate of 5 would drain 50 tokens a minute.
- /pause: Used to pause or unpause the bucket drain. This can be useful for various reasons such as when the broadcaster has to tinkle or if the bucket is close to empyting. Adding the option prevents the room from being notified that the bucket has been paused.
- /addgoal: Used to add an additional goal while the app is running.
- /skip: Used to skip the current goal (if there is one). As stated previously, the app allows the broadcaster to set 4 goals that cycle through while the app is running. If for some reason the broadcaster decides to skip the current goal and move on to the next, this command will do so applying the tokens from the previous goal to the next one.
- /goals: Displays the list of goals and their current status including how many tokens remain to complete the current goal. Moderators may append the "all" option to the end of the command to send the goals to the whole room.
- /leakyhelp: Displays a list of the available room commands for that particular viewer's access level and an explanation of the command.
If you find this app to be useful and or you have suggestions please leave a comment or tweet me @boondog19. I would love to hear from broadcasters who are using this app.
